Mind Games Canada Accessibility Statement
We firmly believe that the internet should be available and accessible to anyone, and are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of circumstance and ability.
To fulfill this, we aim to adhere as strictly as possible to the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (WCAG 2.1) at the AA level. These guidelines explain how to make web content accessible to people with a wide array of disabilities. Complying with those guidelines helps us ensure that the website is accessible to all people: blind people, people with motor impairments, visual impairment, cognitive disabilities, and more.
This website utilizes various technologies that are meant to make it as accessible as possible at all times. We utilize an accessibility interface that allows persons with specific disabilities to adjust the website’s UI (user interface) and design it to their personal needs.
Additionally, the website utilizes an AI-based application that runs in the background and optimizes its accessibility level constantly. This application remediates the website’s HTML, adapts Its functionality and behavior for screen-readers used by the blind users, and for keyboard functions used by individuals with motor impairments.
If you’ve found a malfunction or have ideas for improvement, we’ll be happy to hear from you. You can reach out to the website’s operators by using the following email customerservice@mindgames.ca
Our website implements the ARIA attributes (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) technique, alongside various different behavioral changes, to ensure blind users visiting with screen-readers are able to read, comprehend, and enjoy the website’s functions. As soon as a user with a screen-reader enters your site, they immediately receive a prompt to enter the Screen-Reader Profile so they can browse and operate your site effectively. Here’s how our website covers some of the most important screen-reader requirements, alongside console screenshots of code examples:
Screen-reader optimization: we run a background process that learns the website’s components from top to bottom, to ensure ongoing compliance even when updating the website. In this process, we provide screen-readers with meaningful data using the ARIA set of attributes. For example, we provide accurate form labels; descriptions for actionable icons (social media icons, search icons, cart icons, etc.); validation guidance for form inputs; element roles such as buttons, menus, modal dialogues (popups), and others. Additionally, the background process scans all of the website’s images and provides an accurate and meaningful image-object-recognition-based description as an ALT (alternate text) tag for images that are not described. It will also extract texts that are embedded within the image, using an OCR (optical character recognition) technology. To turn on screen-reader adjustments at any time, users need only to press the Alt+1 keyboard combination. Screen-reader users also get automatic announcements to turn the Screen-reader mode on as soon as they enter the website.
These adjustments are compatible with all popular screen readers, including JAWS and NVDA.
Keyboard navigation optimization: The background process also adjusts the website’s HTML, and adds various behaviors using JavaScript code to make the website operable by the keyboard. This includes the ability to navigate the website using the Tab and Shift+Tab keys, operate dropdowns with the arrow keys, close them with Esc, trigger buttons and links using the Enter key, navigate between radio and checkbox elements using the arrow keys, and fill them in with the Spacebar or Enter key.Additionally, keyboard users will find quick-navigation and content-skip menus, available at any time by clicking Alt+1, or as the first elements of the site while navigating with the keyboard. The background process also handles triggered popups by moving the keyboard focus towards them as soon as they appear, and not allow the focus drift outside of it.
Users can also use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.
We aim to support the widest array of browsers and assistive technologies as possible, so our users can choose the best fitting tools for them, with as few limitations as possible. Therefore, we have worked very hard to be able to support all major systems that comprise over 95% of the user market share including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Opera and Microsoft Edge, JAWS and NVDA (screen readers), both for Windows and for MAC users.
Despite our very best efforts to allow anybody to adjust the website to their needs, there may still be pages or sections that are not fully accessible, are in the process of becoming accessible, or are lacking an adequate technological solution to make them accessible. Still, we are continually improving our accessibility, adding, updating and improving its options and features, and developing and adopting new technologies. All this is meant to reach the optimal level of accessibility, following technological advancements. For any assistance, please reach out to customerservice@mindgames.ca

My 12 year old son absolutely loves these projects. He will sit down and work on it for days until it’s finished; and is s proud of the accomplishment when he’s done. So much better than Video Games!!!

OK folks, pretty much ignore negative reviews. The fact is that this is a very complex model, takes several days (not hours) to assemble properly, and can be pretty frustrating. My grandparents used to call it “hot and bothered” when reaching a point where frustration becomes damaging. So, when you get stuck on a particularly confusing part of assembly – take a break and come back later. This projector is pretty much unforgiving in that instructions MUST be followed EXACTLY. Do that, be prepared to invest quite a bit of time – and the result is a real, functional work of art. Those who complain frankly haven’t built the model correctly – and it’s easy to make a mistake if your eyes aren’t glued to the manual – so simply take your time, don’t rush it, and you’ll be very happy with the results! The “cool” factor is simply off the charts and it’ll be a prized possession for years to come!

I got this as a gift for my brother who is a mechanical engineer. He didn’t feel like it was beneath him, but had a lot of fun putting it together and it’s actually pretty cool when its all built! The pieces are well packaged and organized, and the instructions are clear. I would definitely gift this to someone again!

Enjoyed assembling it with my partner yesterday! Every piece that comes with it has an extra, which is very thoughtful. I recommend this product to parents with young kids, couples and anyone who enjoys a little playtime.

So much fun!!! Pretty challenging but just what I was looking for. Took me about 8 hours to complete. The movie doesn’t exactly play smoothly but it’s part of the charm.

This was a fun project. It took us about 2 days to complete it. It was challenging without being frustrating. The only thing we haven’t figured is how to get the film to run and not appear upside down.
MARK S –
A great project for my daughter and I. All of the pieces fit right and the instructions were clear.

My wife gave me this as a Christmas present and I was a bit skeptical at first sight; seeing this product for the very first time and not really knowing anything about it made me intrepid about it in general. Once I opened it up and realized immediately that this was no easy project I steadfastly elated and excited to get to work on it right away. To my surprise and great elation, the project was extremely challenging and fun! I highly recommend this to anyone looking to get some enjoyment out of life free of clue — happy beginnings!

I recently started buying some of these wooden puzzles as a hobby, this was a nice one to add to the collect.I enjoyed putting this one other and would do it again.
Sara Marshall –
This was very relaxing to build. It took me about 5 hours and I’m a beginner. I posted my finished projector on Facebook and got so many comments. Everyone asked where I got it. I am planning on buying more. These are very cool and would make a cool gift. I did have a small piece to the door handle brake but was totally my fault.

GREAT!I bought this as a Christmas gift for my daughter who is going to school for film. She loved it!
MommaTex –
It was easy for my husband to assemble. It wobbles a bit when you crank the handle to play the movie. So, the picture isn’t very clear. I wish it had a base to hold it still.
Emilee –
It really works!!!
David WilsonDavid Wilson –
Loved this! Got this for my birthday and it took hours of hard work but it looks awesome and works great! The instructions are only pictures so attention to detail was key, but it was just what I wanted and will be a cool decor item.

My 11 year old loved it, he is always asking for something that would take a long time to put together, but didn’t want to pay for expensive Lego set. 4 stars only because when we finished it we couldn’t really see the video. I don’t know if maybe it was because we put the lens on incorrectly (which could very well be possible)

Richard –
One of the easier ones to assemble since the wood is a little thicker but the picture doesn’t show up crazy clear
Jean –
The mechanism does not work well. Recipient enjoyed assembly
Daniotra –
My husband loved this Christmas gift. He enjoyed putting it together and loved the science aspect of it. The pieces are not overly delicate. Assembly was challenging, but not frustrating.
