Onitama, published by Arcane Wonders, is a head-to-head abstract game with elements of hand management and open information strategy.
In Onitama, each player represents a monk school with a master and four disciples, each battling to show their superior martial arts movements by attempting to capture the opponents master or by having their master outwit and outmaneuver the opponent by reaching the other side of the board.
In each game, you will randomly select five cards from the 16 available. The two cards in front of you will determine the moves you are able to make and you only have five moves per game. You need to carefully watch what your opponent does and consider how you can respond. Each game of Onitama unfolds differently, depending on the cards available, but rounds are quick and intense!
Onitama is recommended for two players, ages 14 and up. Gameplay lasts around 15 minutes (5 minutes to learn, 10 minutes to play).
